Borat on Sunrise: I like sex, my preference women.

Borat talked to David Koch this morning on Sunrise at 7:50am. They chatted about breakfast television, being a sex symbol, and Melbourne Gibson. Its a shame it couldn’t have been live in studio, would have been good to see him interact with the whole gang.

The BBC launched a new corporate campaign in March this year with tagline ‘This is what we do’. Each video is designed to demonstrate “the passion and commitment of individuals working for the organisation”.

This is the first campaign of its kind since the 1997 Perfect Day promotion which I’ve been told was quite revered when it was first released.

I don’t think this is all of them, and I’m not sure if they are still running, let me know.

Update: Two more, ‘Every minute’ and ‘The Favours’. Thanks Graham.

The second part of the BBC documentary series Planet Earth goes to air later today (UK time) and since I’ve already shown you the earlier BBC and ABC promos for the show it seems only fair you see the new promo (still featuring “Hoppípolla” by Sigur Rós) from the recently refreshed BBC One.

The ABC is celebrating 50 years of television tonight with a 90 minute special. As part of the lead up they’ve been running old idents from the past half century.

Personally the 50’s and 90’s are my favourite, the 80’s seem very, well 80’s and the 70’s are easily the most confusing, but then again I wasn’t alive for that decade.

Update 27/5/07: Added “First song” video.

These three videos are part of a larger series asking the stars of Channel 4 shows twenty questions with each video being a collection of their answers. Celebrities featured in these include the stars of Six Feet Under, The West Wing, Scrubs, Lost, Desperate Housewives and The OC.

These videos are easily some of my favourite things I’ve ever posted on this blog. Channel 4 are just awesome at the stuff they can get their talent to do, whether its Judi Dench in a lobster costume or the cast of Lost in a Western they go to so much trouble.

If anyone has anymore videos from this series please email me.

Thanks Craig and Jody for the vids.

(Download the DVPAL of the swearing video here, its only 281mb.)

The Australian Arena

It turns out there is a German television network also called Arena, but the one we’re looking at today is the Australian subscription television channel available on Foxtel, Austar and Optus.

Among the people I work with it seems to be their channel of preference, and I’m guessing Entourage, Gilmore Girls, Nip/Tuck, Six Feet Under, Project Runway, SNL and Will and Grace have something to do with it.

This sixty second ident incorporates many of the networks shows into an LA backdrop featuring the tune “This Old Love” by Lior.

The first 3 minutes of the new FiveUS digital channel just launched in the UK. It basically just introduces the programming, and you meet Russell who between shows will be touring the US talking to the people behind some of the shows and looking at the culture that we so love and hate.

Like in the other FiveUS clips this one also includes Sufjan Steven’s “Chicago”, but also mixes in a bit of Razorlight’s “America”.

Along with FiveUS, a new channel targeted at women has also been brought online by Five. Five Life will feature the likes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Home and Away.

More exciting for me though is the inclusion of Love My Way in the line up. I only recently discovered the show, and documented my enthusiasm for it here. If you live in the UK give it a go, and if you live in Australia catch up with the DVD’s because I think the third season is due soon.

Update: John Suchet reminding you to rescan for the new channels.
