The BBC launched a new corporate campaign in March this year with tagline ‘This is what we do’. Each video is designed to demonstrate “the passion and commitment of individuals working for the organisation”.

This is the first campaign of its kind since the 1997 Perfect Day promotion which I’ve been told was quite revered when it was first released.

I don’t think this is all of them, and I’m not sure if they are still running, let me know.

Update: Two more, ‘Every minute’ and ‘The Favours’. Thanks Graham.

I can tell you that at least in the South West there’s a local This Is What We Do running on BBC One before the local opt-outs.

Yeah i know there’s local ‘This is what we do’s’ in most regional news areas, I’ve seen BBC Londons, Midlands Todays and Look North’s Promos too.

The entire country is doing the local this is what we do. The core bits were filmed at the mailbox, in the midlands. We should get all of those on here

I spotted a new one the other night – really quick edits of loads of different things, with the tag line – Every minute… of every day… This is what we do. Was pretty cool.

I don’t recall the Perfect Day “campaign” actually being a campaign! I remember there was a BBC Music 24 day, which, as you may have guessed had music and live music themed programming for a full 24 hours across BBC1 and BBC2 which all ended at six or seven o’clock with that You Tube video on both BBC1 AND BBC2 at the same time, it was that special! 😀 I thought it all ended there though I was young at the time and was much more into ITV (because back then it was watchable) so I guess they may have had shorter versions in between programmes.

There is a problem with the Midlands Today version, the titles are out of date!

Still, the promo campagin is good, though i question one section of the “every minite” clip. Giving the enemy a chance to progandase on the BBC is not a good idea on any level!

They are supposed to be impartial, and they try their very best as well. The worry is that they are baised in technology news and sometimes picks really bad or absud ideas like interviewing the enemy, Newswatch had many complants on that.

Don’t get me wrong, the BBC is a very good provider of news, but i think some of their viewpoint\agenda needs altering before libels or other problems occur.

These promos are made by Fallon – the same people who made the Sony Balls ad last year and this year’s brilliant Sony Paint ad (thousands of gallons of paint exploding all over a run-down Glasgow housing estate).
