iPodpalooza 2.0: Who wants my iPod nano?

DSC01665

A few weeks ago I was a runnner up in the BBC’s reboot competition to redesign their home page. My prize was an iPod nano which I recieved from White City last week. But I’m happy with my shuffle, and since I recently celebrated my new found employment by buying my friends 30gb iPods, I thought one of you might like it. Not to devalue the prize the BBC gave me, its frieken awesome, I just thought someone would probably get better use out of it then me.

So, if a brand new 4gb iPod nano sounds good, leave a comment on this post and I’ll randomly pick someone on **Tuesday the 15th**.

One comment per person, and make sure you use a real email address. Anyone in the world can enter, and just realise your comment may need moderation before it appears.

Update: Lilian from Sydney won! Thanks to everyone who entered and should I find anything else cool to give away you’ll all be the first to know.

Hey, I am Australian but now live on the Island of Koh Samui in Thailand. I have always had an interest in TV and TV Idents. I pop in to your site about every week to catch up on the lateest from Australia and the World! Not many Idents sites around! Well done on the BBC Runner up! And great that you are generous with your nano, who ever get it! The Beach calls cheers Tim.

Coming up, a round up of what’s still to come, still to come, but first, stay with us, next a new report declares that a third of people are already dead. (Broken News)

Me John, pick me!
P.S. Could you please post a clip of Friday’s Chaser? The segment where they had a stab at McManus’s “What The?” It was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen on the ABC.

Me please! I am so glad I discovered this site. 😀 Not just for the cool ‘I;’m giving away an iPod nano” thing, but hey, idents! Hee! I never knew they could be so cool. XD

nothing like a free ipod to get the punters commenting.

as much as i enjoy the chaser, being able to view hd idents from abroad is a pretty little way to brighten up the odd week.

Bargains bargains bargains, it’s me, the Surprise Spruiker, and we have lots of quality iPod Nanos here, get them quick because they’re WALKING OUT THE DOOR! Everyone of them simply HAS TO GO!…. wait…. what are you doing…. normally you unplug my mic and move my speaker, thats how it works….

PS John: Red Bee Media are redoing the BBC Idents later this year, if you didn’t already know, might be worthy of a big post when it happens.

Please please please please pick me. I recon these things are awesome have a few mates with them and I would do anything to get one (besides forking out the cash, which by the way I don’t have).
Great site

I started reading this site because I’m interested in various idents, and I was into the Chaser boys anyway, but because of you I’m now watching “Top Gear”!

Clearly an iPod would help me appreciate the “idents.tv” experience even more… 🙂

I’ve been lurking around for a while, so I guess it takes a shameless entry to a giveaway to get me out of the woodwork!

Any site that manages to introduce me to anything as good as The War on Everything gets two thumbs up from me – keep it up!

I’ve always thought about leaving a comment on this site, now’s as good- well better -time as any. I LOVE that you love my favourite shows, this site is the closest thing I have to talking to people about shows other than Australian Idol.
This is a rant that is probably better off on televised revolution, But what I really wanted to say is that I am calling to arms all those who used to love late night TV before we were invaded by the telephone game shows. Sheena, MASH re-runs, Paradise beach (thought not boston public). They weren’t good but at least they were SOMETHING!

How much did u get for this ADcampaign?
Cobranding your site and Apple 😛
Nice touch 😉

I can only offer in return endless amounts of branded tatt. Namely a mug, and a key ring, maybe even a Biro. But, to highlight the TRUE IMPACT of idents.tv…here goes-this site enabled me to have a drunken conversation with a chap from Melbourne right here in London on Friday 04 August. Approachingly me to ‘borrow’ a cigarette, we ended up talking about The Chaser- knowledge only acquired through my use of this blog. We discussed the bulldogs ‘scandal’, something called CNNN (?) and the excellent sunrise skit- in fact I think that’s where we started. Thirdly, in one final last push to get attention, in terms of prizewinning, I’d like to resort to brat-tish childlike behaviour ‘looook at muuuuuyyy’ (first found in kath and kim) and then delve into even worse behaviour like ja’mie from ‘australian of the year’…I will stop here though. Yours apologetically…

Well that’s a sure way to increase the comment count! A comment for every 20 minutes… I suppose I should be in it to win it!

The violins: Two weeks ago I broke my ancient mp3/CD player thing and have had to sit on the train to work without any music because a look in Dixons would suggest I can’t afford an iPod just yet, especially when the student loan needs paying off.

The cheeky grin: idents.tv is in my favourites list because it manages to overlap a geekish, unhealthy interest in TV presentation (of which I am, sadly, a follower – and feel there is a lack of such sites from down under) with interesting “blogs” about things like the politics of TV presentation, podcasting and the seemingly slow uptake of digitalness in Oz. Plus the site has introduced me to The Chaser, which has gained a cult status among my group of friends.

What other site would give away an iPod for goodness sake?

A wonderful way to see just how much interest this site generates! I’ve been reading since the early days and after years of poor or no quality captures of what you guys see in Australia, it’s great to have a dedicated website around.

I would really like to have an iPod Nano. It is a very cool thing to have nowadays. Please, pick me!

Ive been coming to this site for a while now its great to see an Australian view of tv seeing as its a lot different from the tv we get here in the uk.

Congrats on the winning the ipod 😀

What I really find not unusual is people trying to convince you to give your iPod to them. It’s too funny.

In the coming months I’m getting myself a MacBook. Maybe it’s time I made the switch.

But I won’t ask you to “pick me”. I have my dignity, thanks 🙂

Hi John.

I was going to do a post where I claimed that it was above me to beg…

But who am I to fight human nature!

I would LOVE an iPod Nano, to be honest.

I don’t envy you the prospect of choosing someone, given the sudden increase in postings.

🙂

OK, to be honest, i’d like to have your iPod Nano.

There are a lot of things I can do with it. Unfortunately, i’m unable to afford one.

You see, in our place, a luxury (or necessity) such as a Nano can be a rare possesion.

With a nano, work or play, it’ll be put to very good use, I promise. I’ll even send you pics regulary so you can see its evolution.

Hope you make the right decision.

Whoever receives it must put it into very good use.

Congrats on winning the ipod – well done on giving it away too! Plenty of people here who are deserving of it.

Keep up the good work on the website too – I love that there is a website devoted to stuff like this – fascinating stuff!

Wow, you could have kept it yourself as a spare, or auctioned it off on eBay. You’ve got a tonne of karma coming your way 🙂

Do you understand me? (http://www.google.com/translate_t)
