Like you needed another reason not to watch the Today show, but The Chaser’s War found one…

Jessica, I feel quite safe yes, and not because I’ve got these armed soldiers behind me, who were put there by your stage manager here to make it look good, I don’t need these guys here.

- Brigadier Michael Slater, responding to Jessica Rowe on the Today show asking him about how he feels about his own safety.

  • I think this was unfair of the Chaser team. I know Jessica is a bit of a pain but she was not to know that her network execs, so keen for ratings, were going to pull such a stunt. also there was a bit of a mistake when they said that the shrubs groing behing jessica arn’t real they infact are! today is filmed in a purpouse built studio on the backlot of Channel 9 in Sydney. often you see the nine choper taking off in the background! Today is a far better program compared to that crap on channel 7!

  • …Though the reminder that news networks will do anything to make it feel “dramtic” was shown. One other example of this kind of action is ITV news, i mean, its such a joke now we could go though a list of what they are doing wrong. In the case of staging, they always seem to be so dramatic we want to say “BREATHE!”
