The ABC launched its current “There’s more to..” campaign on December 21st 2005, and with tomorrows impending shake up and name change it seemed the time was right for a short retrospective.
The above videos are just a selection of the many, many variations on the theme that have been broadcast over the past few years, including the original 60 second video that began the rebrand back in 2005.
While there have certainly been varying levels of quality, some of the stand outs from the series include the “genre collection” released early last year, and of course The Chaser’s directors commentary, noting the series obscurity and pretension.

those idents a brilliant, shame they mainly played the in-house made ones like the girl clicking with the hat now that was crap!
Hmm… I don’t think I’ve ever seen the “girl clicking with the hat” ABC ident that Byron has mentioned – does anyone have a link to it, I’d like to see it in all its apparent crappiness?
Jon K.: I can’t find it on YouTube, but rest assured, it’s bad. I’m embarrassed that a significant number of people at the ABC approved it for airing.
Do we know what time tomorrow the rebrand will come into effect?
Noon so watch the midday report! I gather ABC2 will also change at noon.
So, currently the ABC website is inaccessible – maybe the rebrand is taking effect as we speak?
Good news, everybody – you can watch the new idents NOW, at abc.net.au/tv/newtv.
