France 2 is the largest public television station in France, it was also the first channel in the country to go colour in 1967, and is in closest competition with TF1.
In the above videos you’ve got the closest thing French television have to idents, their “publicité” spots, followed by a movie promo, two news openers from throughout the day and a primetime line up.
For more French Television, check out my posts on ARTE, France 3, France 5, TF1 and the France Télévisions group.

Very interesting. I’ve generally found France 2 to be rather boring, as is most French television. Nice, modern pres here though.
The France 2 news bulletins are on SBS in the mornings as well as the World News Channel. I like the breakbumper stings they use – all the ones I’ve seen so far have been quite creative.
The news set in the first video was quite flash. The presenter in the second one seemed to have a bit of trouble with her teleprompter.
Personally (I’m French), I dislike this ident because, is on air since 2002. So for the French viewers, it looks like old and too simple. We’re wating for a new ident on France 2. Maybe France 2 will launch a new ident the 7th September, because this is the France Télévision’s birthday (je pense que l’on peut toujours rêver, mais bon…).
Why are you droppong the english subtitles. It’s a great loss.
