“On November 5 1956, the ABC made its first TV broadcast from its Sydney studios, inaugurated by Prime Minister Robert Menzies, and on November 19 the first TV broadcast beamed out from the ABC’s Melbourne’s studios.”

These promos featuring John Clarke take a look at next months line up of nostalgic and not so nostalgic programming including the new West Wing and the Queen’s Sister.

HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY ABCTV!

You are a beacon of light in Australia – not just in TV.

These three shows will be fantastic. I am hoping to see some footage of the old ABCNews, which was before my time.

John, have your video capture device ready!

Good ol’ ABC, If little Johnny has his way it won’t be around for another 50!
I doubt the ABC’s party will be as extravagent as 7’s!

Do you really want the ABC to throw a party like 7? They just need to keep it simple, otherwise its getting a bit tyring all these shows looking back, especially because channel nine is flogging it to death with What a Year, and 20 to 1, and seven’s new show on sunday nights.
