Five is ten! You’ll have to forgive me for the title of this post, it refers to a Dead Ringers bit (video after the jump). The graphics and execution on these special anniversary idents are fantastic, and I love the route they’ve taken of the network literally being ten years old like a child.
Above Kirsty Young, Matthew Wright, Naomi Wilkinson reflect on their time at Channel Five, which for a network I know nothing about is certainly growing on me. And below some cross promotion with Five Life and that Dead Ringers bit, so keep reading…

Soft porn and America? I don’t think so!
Someone’s very nicely put the first eight minutes of Five on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKKfVAfPk54
A lot of people say they prefered it when it was Channel 5 around the time it launched, but Five is my most watched terrestrial network. I’ve fallen in love with all their American shows!

American TV would freak out if they saw a boob. And barely any proper documentaries on the FTA networks there.
Five oh Five… it used to be tacky

LOL I have to post this: I just remember that on my 6-month stay in London I did saw all those Hitler documentaries and “soft porn” programmes which the Dead Ringers refered to…actually, it was both Channel 4 and Five (no, really! I’ve learned alot about the second world war thanks to those documentaries and I do remember watching a documentary about a sex study group LOL)
