It was a few months ago when I wrote my 100th post, and I’m not sure if this is slow or quick, but here we are at the 200th. To celebrate I thought I’d “re-release” my favourite series of Australian idents thus far in the year-and-a-bit that I’ve been blogging.

Its the SBS liquid series created by Sydney agency Inkproject, they’ve done a lot of really amazing stuff for SBS, and samples of all of it are on their website.

The sequences are live action (many people believe them to be computer generated). Shot using an experimental camera capable of shooting 2000 fps at video rez. The SBS shapes CG, where then intergrated into the action.

The concept behind the liquid ids was to express SBS in an amazingly simple manner in order to create a visual space which would not only mark the channel and also give something back to the viewer!

We are very proud of them. As with all good things the outcome looks simple but the process was quite invloved. The post was done at Digital Pictures.
