Worth pointing out that the ITV coverage is from a regional news programme, and as such, is not really a fair comparison with the other national clips. It will be very much tailored to that particular area, and may offer a differing perspective.

In Melbourne we just have ghastly backdrops and about seven live crosses (at least on the commercial bulletins).

I’ve never understood why news programmes always send their presenters stand in an area near to where a special event happened hours before. As for floods, what use is a wet presenter? The viewer isn’t going to get any more information other than: “Yes, I can confirm that it is very wet.”

Sorry is it just me or does anyone else feel uncofortable about this post?
I mean its a time of national tragedy for England so couldn’t news broadcasts be compared on any other day?

And they said we where going to get a hot Summer! I live south of Chesterfield, which was flooded, my village is on a hill so no risk of flooding.
